Well-known dressage rider and trainer Zoe Sopp plans to relaunch dressage competitions at the popular Priory Equestrian Centre venue. The shows will run monthly starting this March and Zoe hopes that support from the dressage community will lead to renewed affiliated status in the near future.

Zoe, who has herself competed up to Big Tour at internationals, has exciting plans as a show and training organiser. She told Out and About Dressage: “I have already canvassed top riders in the area to support my first show. The pick your own class which runs upwards from advanced medium already has 25 entries including those who will do FEI tests at Small Tour up to Grand Prix”

Zoe said: “Saturday March 10 will be my first show with all classes being judged by BD listed judges. I want to cater for both grass roots and more experienced riders and will offer tests from prelim up through all levels to grand prix.

Spaces remain available for all classes. For more information about tests and classes, etc, email Zoe at zoe.sopp@btinternet.com. Cost per entry is £15 preferably by bank transfer or otherwise by cheque.

Successful BD competitions were run at Priory by Duncan Whitney-Groom’s Optimum Events up until last November when he decided to concentrate on his increased commitments in East Anglia. Zoe commented: “Like everyone else I felt sad when affiliated shows at Priory ended and I would like to fill that gap. Shows are not just about competing but also about bringing friends together and enjoying a day out. I enjoy the social side myself.”

Priory offers an indoor warm-up and two competition arenas, one 20 by 40m and the other full-size. The full address is: Priory Equestrian Centre, Frensham, Surrey GD10 3DP. It is located off the A287 between Farnham and Hindhead and can be accessed via either the A3 or the A31.
